The Oakton Community College Library and Learning Commons renovation transformed 29,544 square feet into a modern, student-focused academic hub. Spanning all three floors, the project reimagined the existing space to better support collaboration, technology, and evolving campus needs.
To begin, the team reconfigured the interior layout to improve circulation and functionality. They introduced contemporary finishes throughout the building, creating a clean and welcoming environment for students and faculty. As a result, the renovated library and learning commons now features flexible study areas, collaborative zones, and updated spaces designed for both independent and group learning.
In addition to the architectural improvements, the renovation included significant modifications to the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to align with the new floor plan and enhance overall building performance and efficiency. The project also upgraded the existing elevator to improve accessibility and ensure reliable service throughout the building. Together, these improvements create an inclusive, efficient, and modern space that supports the entire campus community.
Overall, the updated Oakton Community College Library and Learning Commons renovation delivers a refreshed educational space designed to meet today’s academic demands while improving long-term functionality and performance.
